Proofreading

ErrNETEvery book needs to be proofread. Authors usually try to proofread their own books, and the results can be quite detrimental to their sales. At eBook Architects our goal is to make the best, most beautiful eBooks on the market. To make that goal more accessible, we have partnered with Cyproof, the makers of ErrNET, an automated proofreading service. Here is a description from their website:

ErrNET is a Web-based product that checks documents for acceptable use of English in formal writing. Developed in collaboration with professional editors and publishers, ErrNET checks for errors in grammar, punctuation, style, and spelling. A large portion of the ErrNET database includes errors, identified by editors, from papers submitted to professional journals. Thus, using ErrNET is like having a professional editor proofread your work. Use ErrNET to proofread your research reports, grant proposals, review articles, letters, presentations, dissertations, theses, brochures, and books.

You can view detailed product information on the ErrNET website, and even see some sample documents that have been run through the process.

ErrNET charges a variable rate for the service, based on the number of pages in the file. For example, a 100-page book costs $45, a 200-page book costs $75, and a 300-page book costs $95. As a result of our special relationship with ErrNET, any eBook Architects client can receive the same ErrNET service for a flat fee of $40.

Publishers who are interested in using the service on all of their books can contact Cyproof directly for information on setting up a similar relationship to integrate into their process. You will be surprised at the number of errors ErrNET finds in professionally-published books.

If you have any questions about this service, please contact us.
